Committee to Elect Stan Gunno

Dear Neighbor,

What Sammamish becomes tomorrow will be determined by the quality of leadership we have today. That’s why I’m running for Sammamish City Council.

You may have known me for several years. What you may not know about me is also important. I run and own a business that operates in our area, and I have been directly involved in our community over the years. I have a strong record of public service – working on national, state, county and community issues that affect our quality of life – and I am ready to formally serve our city.

I understand the issues facing our local government, and I am running to build community, not to leave a legacy. Please take a look at my positions on the issues, and my record of service before you decide.

On the Issues …

“I will listen to the people of Sammamish, ask the hard questions and provide results!”

I support strong public safety agencies and am proud of Sammamish’s Police and Fire Departments. I will fight to fully fund their needs!

I will make certain the city has the necessary services and programs in place to respond to emergencies, especially in order to protect and to help our elderly, physically disabled, and citizens with special needs.

Levelheaded fiscal responsibility is the key to success. I will provide leadership to keep our city running like a successful business.

I will fight to keep spending in line with city growth so our property taxes will not have to be raised.

I will make sure that proper infrastructure comes with any new development that fits our community.

I will create a realistic, long-term fiscal plan to protect the diverse priorities of the Plateau community, including safe neighborhoods, well-maintained parks and trails, recreational facilities and programs, along with a vibrant business district.

A Record of Service

I was brought up to believe that selfless service to others would be its own reward … I still believe that!

An honorable and distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, earning numerous decorations for outstanding service

Meritorious Service Medal, medals for Commendation, Achievement, Good Conduct and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

Currently an elected representative to the King County Veterans’ Program Advisory Board (7-years)

Currently Chairman of the Resource Management and Evaluation Committee, King County Veterans Citizen Levy Oversight Board

Currently a general contractor and small business owner serving the Sammamish Plateau

Currently Vice Commander for the Washington State Disabled American Veterans

Married to Carma for 12 years, with four children and five grandchildren between us.

I ask you for your support and for your vote!

Sincerely,
Stan Gunno
Candidate for Sammamish City Council Position 6
